The first step to learning howto manage your emotions positively is to be really honest with yourself about howyou are feeling. Too often people stuff their true emotions deep inside through fear of exposing themselves or being seen to be vulnerable or negative. Realistically,we will all experience a


wide palette of emotions through our lives and experiences and of course not all of them will be positive.


Learning toharness andmanage youremotions and usethemto the bestof your ability will help you bemore in control. Here is someadvice on howtomanage youremotions:


1. Breathing deeply One of the bestways to calm high emotion is to manage your breathing. Get into a comfortable position and slowly take in deep breaths, breathing in fromyour abdomen. This will help to still a racing pulse and calm your mind.


2.Write itdown When you get upset or irate, it will invariably increase your stress levels, so exercise and any physical activity will be good for releasing endorphins.


3.Avoid taking the easyway This can be very cathartic and will help you to put your emotions into perspective. Keep a journal and write downexactly what you are feeling.


4.Get itoff your chest Bottling up emotion can be unhealthy and even lead to anxiety and depression.Whether it is to a friend or professional, youmaywell need to talk out your feelings to learn howto manage them better.


5.Don’t beat yourselfup If at times you end up in tears or get upset or angry in the wrong situation, rememberthat you are onlyhuman and you will not always be able to manage your emotionswell every single time.
