Our physicians have found their life’s mission, which is improv- ing our children’s health and well-being. Currently 64% of children have a behavioral, emotional, or developmental condition, and frankly it is only getting worse. Current conventional, pharmaceuti- cal medicine is not a long-term solution for most. We have found that natural medicine is far superior to helping kids feel happier and focus better at school, along with being an amazing adjunctive therapy for acute health conditions.
2. What sets Pediatric & Family Center for Natural Medicine apart from other practitioners in the holistic fi eld?
As Licensed Naturopathic Physicians, we are the best trained at
natural medicine. While many natural health providers are expen- sive and only take cash as payments, our offi ce is doing everything it can to help your family and your children by accepting insurances for your visits. We are also open on Saturdays, when the kids are out of school!
3. Tell us about the best memory you have about being a holistic practitioner.
Our best memories are when we help families by helping their
children. We help a lot of children with autism and are skilled at helping them talk more. A mother of a 5-year-old autistic girl who was non-verbal came up to me on a Friday this year and told me about her daughter. I suggested that she had a dopamine defi ciency and gave her a supplement from Spectrum Awakening. Two days later, I saw her again and she started to cry. When I asked what was going on, she said, “Today is my birthday and my daughter hasn’t spoken a word in four years. This morning she had me sit next to her, she held my face in her hands, and said, ‘Happy Birthday, Mom’.” We all shared some more tears because we truly want to help our children be the best they can be. Helping this child speak that morning is a memory which that mother will have forever, and the child has continued to thrive in school. These days are what bring me joy and enthusiasm to help all families help their children.
4. What do you like the most about being a part of Natural Nutmeg?
We love Natural Nutmeg and its publisher Diane. She has been dedicated for over a decade to help families in Connecticut fi nd holistic practices and groups that are there to help them. 2. What sets you apart from other gluten-free product companies?
To begin with, we aren’t just gluten free, but address all of the top allergens and more. We use only non-gmo, high quality ingredients; including Belgian chocolate and cocoa, organic sugars, and plant based food colors. Everything is made from scratch in small batches for the best tasting results. The greatest compliment is that people can’t believe that our products are “everything” free.
3. Tell us about the best memory you have about being a holistic business owner.
It never gets old to see a parent tear up when their child comes into the bakery for the fi rst time and are told they can have anything. That’s why we do what we do. To see the smiles of children, the grateful hugs of parents and to be told “thank you for doing what you do”.
