In downtown West Chester, The Farmers and Mechanics Building adjacent to the Historic Courthouse has begun a new chapter as Align Space; a unique combination of shared workspace plus meeting and event facilities. 1908, a room named for the year of the building’s construction, is 2,200-square feet and can accom- modate a reception for 150 people.


A spectacular mansion, Loch Aerie Mansion in Frazer is 151 years old and being restored to new life. This “Grand Dame of Frazer” is slated to open in January 2020. Spaces will include the first floor of the mansion for smaller events, plus a large ballroom added as new construction to the back of the building. The elegant ballroom will accommodate up to 250 guests and will be a special event space with partners like John Serock Catering and Vintage Betty Rentals.

Chester County’s Brandywine Valley is home to over 20 craft brewing companies from large scale Victory Brewing to fraternity brothers’ labor of love, Locust Lane Brewery. Iron Hill Brewery is planning their first full-scale production facility located in Exton at The Shops on Eagleview Boulevard. The new facility, known as Iron Hill Brewery and Taphouse, will signifi- cantly increase the brewing capacity of the com- pany. The site will house a 10,000-square foot brewery, while the taproom will cover 4,500- square feet; a 150-person private dining room serves as a unique space for special events on- site. A summer 2020 opening is planned.


Brews take center stage for several new restau- rants in Chester County. Sterling Pig’s second location, Sterling Pig Public House, is in the charming town of West Chester. This full-service restaurant offers BBQ and traditional pub fare as well as Sterling Pig brews and other local fa- vorites.


Malvern welcomed the third location of Brick and Brew Gastropub, one of the largest in the region. Situated on vibrant King Street the inside is an eclectic industrial design with exposed brick walls and steel beams. There is an outdoor patio and a private dining room for 12. And with brew in the name, look for 14 tap handles, 10 of which will be rotated on a weekly basis.
