says Claire. “There have even been occasions when I have been up at 4am doing arrangements and buttonholes so that they look their best. “Last winter I was outside collecting ivy at 5am in the dark with a head torch and made a poor guy walking his dog nearly jump out of his skin. profession!!” FAMILY TRADITIONS

Claire believes her love of flowers is as a result of generations of family influence. “I have always loved flowers and growing up, our family homes have always been full of flowers,” she explains. “My mum has always arranged flowers and

cathedral and their local church. So maybe it is in my blood! “My grandparents were traditional Norfolk people and years ago in their long gardens it was normal practice to live off the land with their back gardens full of vegetable produce and old school flowers like scented roses, dahlias. “Herbert, Lily, Emmy and Claude played a big part in our up- bringing; family is very important.

The name Lily Em was inspired by them and it felt like a fitting tribute.”

Lily Em continues to develop a loyal band of customers for weddings, funerals, gift flowers, even flower crowns for festivals as well as selling giftware and vintage finds.

booked for festive workshops either at her home or booked as parties for other people’s homes. She is also busy planning a Christmas Gift sale. Says Claire: “The workshops

are designed so that they are a nice experience with like-minded people where you will sip tea, or something stronger, have something sweet to eat, chat, sing if you like and be creative with flowers and foliage,” says Claire who adds: “You’ll go home with something fabulously festive!” Next year her special Valentine

workshop will guarantee participants an outstanding bouquet. “I hope people agree that we should try and keep things local rather than ordering from faceless on-line national and international agencies. “I can produce a bespoke

product which meets the clients' specific requirements, at a reasonable price and will deliver locally with a huge smile,” Claire guarantees. Lily Em Tel. 07884 250909
