Welcome to the November issue
Well the gardens have certainly had a good watering recently! I do hope it dries up a little so we can get out and enjoy what’s left of the autumn.
You might be starting to think about Christmas later this month, the lights are being switched on outside the Methodist Church in Broadstone from 6-7pm on Friday 29th November (pg58) and it is great to hear that Corfe Mullen will be getting its own tree near the Windgreen roundabout this year (pg8) as a precursor to more festive lighting in the village.
If you are starting to look for a Christmas gift for a loved one, why not consider an art class with Seasons Art (pg57) or a voucher for Avanthills Aesthetic Clinic (pg 13). Alternatively, visit Forum Jewellers’ Black Friday sale (pg23), see the new retail canopy and range of plants at Chestnut Nursery (pg42), or pop in to see the gifts available at Sturtons & Tappers (pg1) in Wimborne. If you prefer to make a gift to charity, Cards for Good Causes (pg60) are in Broadstone Library and Julia’s House makes a passionate plea for your consideration on pages 52-53.
Lytchett Minster School is advertising with us this month (pg49) and is keen to promote its sixth form open evening, and also its popular series of university-style lectures, which are open to the public. Historians, TV presenters and professors have spoken in the past. This month, drugs and blackholes are the topics under discussion.
Welcome to new advertisers Chris Ayling Plastering (pg11) and Heat Rite (pg19). Also new to The Link, Corfe Mullen Community Foodbank would like to know your thoughts about their work – find their questionnaire on page 37-38.
Until next time, Karen Remembrance Parade details, pg14
