“If for some reason, people have not
entered the awards before, we hope they will come along in December to see what all the fuss is about, with a view to getting involved in the future.”
JUDGING PROCESS The UK Pool & Spa Awards is judged
through a three-tier judging process involving public votes, individual judges comments and finally scrutiny by the UK Pool & Spa Awards Jury. All entrants are judged as achieving bronze, silver or gold standard with certificates and trophies awarded across 30 categories. Popular televisions and sports
commentator, the UK’s best known swimming personality, Sharron Davies, MBE will make a popular return visit to present the awards. The event, traditionally raises money for good causes. This year’s charity is Heidi’s Heroes, a charity nominated by
Sharron herself. Heidi’s Heroes was launched in 2013 as an ongoing and permanent tribute to Heidi Wood, a former world championship swimmer from Cheltenham, who died of cancer in 2012 aged 51.
