Friday 18th October Meet the Producers


Join Matt Palmer from The Angel as he hosts a series of talks, interviews and question and answer sessions with some of the wonderful local producers we have in the area. Delicious tasters will be provided at each session.

11.30am- 12.15pm: Carl Ansell - Brixham Honey This talk is a must for anyone interested in learning about keeping bees. Carl has years of experience in local bee keeping and will talk to you about where he keeps his hives locally and how the wonderful honey is produced. Come along and learn, maybe pick up a new hobby !


1.15pm- 2.00pm: Sharpham Cheese Based on the River Dart, two miles downstream of the ancient market town of Totnes is the Sharpham Estate. A specialist from Sharpham Cheese dairy will be talking about how they produce their wonderful range of cheeses with milk from their Red Tractor assured Jersey cows.’


2.30pm - 3.15pm: Hunts Cider - Richard Hunt Based at Stoke Gabriel, Hunts Cider are Devon cider makers with a long tradition and heritage, stretching back over 200 years. Richard Hunt, 8th Generation Cider Maker and Director of Hunt’s Cider will talk about how they use the highest quality Devon cider apples, fermenting fresh bitter apple juice each autumn, while maintaining traditional methods.


3.30pm - 4.15pm: Salcombe Gin One of the co founders of Salcombe Gin will talk about how it all began. The production of the famous Start Point gin at their distillery on Island street in Salcombe and the introduction of the voyager series gins.
