My background I was born in Mexico City, where I was raised surrounded by a big family and learned to adapt to different environments in one of the biggest cities in the world. I have more than 15 years experience in administration, operations and guest services as I started working while I was studying. I have studied English and French as part of my studies and
graduated in Administration and Hospitality Management. My first job was in my father’s business as a receptionist, followed by a manager position in an Irish pub where I spent most of my years while studying at college. During university I was an events and banqueting manager at a chain
of Italian restaurants where I organised events for around 500 guests in different areas of the restaurant. In doing this I gained experience selling, planning and organising conferences, functions, weddings and other events. After graduating I joined Disney World in Orlando Florida for an
international cultural programme in Epcot, where I learned the Disney values and philosophy which are considered one of the most successful organisational structures in the world. After finishing my programme, I went back to Mexico where I re-joined my position as an events and banqueting manager. I decided it was time to review my career and travel by working on cruises and joined Disney Cruise line where I became extremely disciplined and passionate about operations and quality of service for customers from all around the world. After three years on board two different ships I decided that it was
time to settle and moved to the UK and started my own family. I got my first job as a wedding co-ordinator and soon after joined
the Trgplc group as an assistant manager. Not long after I started my own business of Mexican Sauces and
soon after joined St Mellion International Resort as a wedding coordinator where I carved a very successful career organising many weddings and other exciting events.
My role at the Chamber When the opportunity to join Devon and Plymouth Chamber of Commerce arose I felt that it was exactly what I was looking for as I have always been a person that enjoys building relationships in different environments. I am aiming to give a new face to the events of the Chamber where we help businesses by creating new opportunities and connections between members in a more welcoming and humanistic environment.
