CHAMBER SOCIAL CHAMBER INSIDER
Name: Sam Kerswill Job Title: Membership Executive
My background I was born in Gibraltar but moved to England when I was still young and lived in Plymouth and Ivybridge ever since, so I am a local girl at heart. I attended a boarding school in
Launceston from the age of six and I believe this is what made me into the confident and independent person I am today. I got to travel around the
country (well, my parents had to ferry me around the country) to compete in many sports competitions at county level including hockey, netball, athletics and trampolining. I have always been very completive and like to do the best at everything I do. Throughout my working life I have worked predominantly within
sales roles and management, the last six years working for Virgin Active and St Mellion International Resort, managing all aspects of the membership within the clubs. Five months after starting at St Mellion managing the membership
team, I was promoted to Resort Sales Manager, where I successfully managed the events, weddings and membership teams. I relish being part of a successful team. I am a proud mum to my beautiful teenage daughter and I have a cheeky little chihuahua puppy who is a lot more trouble than the teenager.
My role at the Chamber I was interested in the role at the Chamber because I could see there were lots of areas where my previous experience with managing memberships, sales and networking could be utilised. Since joining the Chamber, I have been able to hit the ground
running and have started working on increasing the membership numbers, whilst engaging with many existing members. If I haven’t yet spoken to you please do get in touch, it will be great
to hear from you and make sure you are getting the most out of your membership. I feel that this is such an exciting time to be joining the Chamber and to be part of the new Membership Services Team, with the launch of the new membership packages and all the new and exciting events that are being planned.
