Welcome to the latest edition of Chamber Profile magazine, which is packed with news, information and articles. Within these pages, as well as stories from members, you will
find updates on the Chamber’s new membership offer and our lobbying activities. This is an exciting time to be a member of your accredited Chamber. The new member offer brings
a whole new range of valuable benefits in packages that suit business of every type and size, giving you choice and control over the package that is right for you. Our events programme is also growing with more varied and interesting events that cater to all
tastes, combining information, networking and social elements at a diverse range of venues and times. The Devon Business Show is the biggest and best yet and a must-attend for both exhibitors and
visitors alike. With Devon & Plymouth Chamber chairing the new British Chambers of Commerce South West (BCCSW) alliance, set up to provide a powerful single voice for business in the region that will rival the Midlands Engine and the Northern Powerhouse, you can be assured that your Chamber is working hard to make sure the conditions for businesses are as good as they can be. You can read more about the BCCSW position statements inside. Equally important if you want your voice heard is that you complete the QES (Quarterly Economic
Survey) that we regularly send out to take the pulse of business and report in the results to the highest levels of Government. The QES is the largest independent business survey in the country and organisations such as the
Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee uses it before making any change that will affect business conditions. The results of the survey allow us to represent business and ensure trading conditions are right for
you. Whatever happens with the B-word, we can are here to help you access new markets. It is this sort of work, combined with the advice and documents service of our International Trade team, that has recently allowed our member businesses to export such things as Devon crab to China and tents to Thailand. We never take your membership for granted and truly value your support. We want to make sure
we are offering you the sort of support and benefits you need, so please keep in touch and tell us what we can do to help you to connect, grow and succeed.
