Le Mans Art In The City

Enjoy all the excitement of modern circus creation in 23 shows, 81 outdoor, indoor and big top performances. The festival aim is


programming shows as for the largest possible audience especially for families, far beyond the city limits.

During the summer, Art In The City will be celebrated in Le Mans. This artistic exploration will invade the whole public space, make all the districts, and colour the parks and gardens, in different forms. The priority given to art in the city will offer tourists and new artistic experiences through two major cultural events.


Plein Champ, a new event, invites us to walk through the city, the parks and gardens, to discover a street art exhibition offered by graffiti artists on dedicated concrete supports, newly established sculptures in the districts as well as in the town centre, the Wilber Wright tunnel embellishment, and Johann Le Guillerm’s artistic and poetic installations.

The reinvented La Nuit Des Chimères, will offer, as it has done for 14 years, a highlight of the Plantagenet City during summer. Between tradition and renewal, the new 2019 screenings will give a new look to the original Skertzo lights on the grand site of the cathedral and let discover the creations of a new artist, Philippe Echaroux, who will reveal 20 original and contemporary portraits of anonymous citizens of Le Mans, highlighted along the city wall and in the old town.

Johann Le Guillerm, an unclassifiable artist, offers Attraction Le Mans 2019-2021, a project, at the crossroads between circus, show and contemporary art.

Architextures Le Palk, L’indrique, Le Crisalide, in city parks in july and August; Conference Le Pas Grand-chose. Théâtre de l’Ephémère, from 16th to 18th of September.
