June 19 to July 11, 2019 The Musical Wanderings of Reims is a classical music festival that promotes not only the great (and less well-known) composers of centuries past, but also contemporary musicians who are continuing the traditions of the genre. Under the artistic direction of the pianist Jean-Philippe Collard, some 60 concerts will take place in about 40 venues in and around the northeastern city from midsummer to the middle of July. As well as the main events, the festival also includes Petits Flâneurs, a programme specifi cally dedicated to young children – and we do mean young. Budding musicians from the age of 18 months are invited to develop their talents! There is also a series of Débuts for young artists at the start of their professional careers. The fi nale comes in the form of a concert picnic in the lush

Musique Cordiale August 7-19, 2019

More than 100 musicians and singers will descend on the village of Seillans, Provence, at the beginning of August to perform music of the highest calibre in the most idyllic of settings. There will be 18 events this year, including symphony concerts conducted by James Lowe, other orchestral works, chamber music, recitals, opera, jazz, folk, and even a little nostalgic rock. But perhaps the highlight of this 15th edition of the festival is the choral extravaganza of Handel’s oratorio Saul, conducted by Graham Ross. Buckle up – it’s going to be an emotional ride! www.musique-cordiale.com
