Red Umbrella’s Mental Health courses set to make a splash
The Chamber has partnered with Chamber member Red Umbrella to offer a suite of training courses designed at offering Mental Health First Aider (MHFA) courses and Ofqual First Aid for Mental Health - levels one, two and three. Mental health in the workplace is
a key focus of many employers, with businesses recognising both the responsibility to their employees as well as the positive effects of having an engaged, happy and healthy workforce. Red Umbrella offers accredited
MHFA training, bespoke EAP- specific (Employee Assistance Plan) to mental health, anonymous workplace surveys for company mental health check-ups and immediate access to therapists. Office of Qualifications and
Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) regulates qualifications, examinations and assessments in England, with Red Umbrella fully compliant. What’s more, through these
comprehensive training courses, Chamber members could be eligible for a 40% reimbursement on the cost of the courses. Fully-registered and Ofqual-
accredited half-day, one-day and two-day level one, two and three are being offered to all SMEs in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire with ESF Funding, based on the following criteria: • Located in Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire
• Under 250 employees • Under £50m per year turnover
There is also significant added
value to any business taking advantage of this suite of mental health-related programmes, including: • Advice on how best to role out and use the First Aiders for Mental Health effectively,
including materials for the office and intranet
• Full access to Red Umbrella’s Mental Health First Aid mentoring programme
• Full access to Red Umbrella’s 24/7 support lines
• Full access to Red Umbrella’s counsellors and therapists if required
• Access to Red Umbrella’s online forums
What is the difference between
MHFA England Mental health First Aider courses and the Ofqual First Aid for Mental Health level one, two and three courses? Fundamentally the two courses
are very similar except the Ofqual- rated courses have a test at the end with a pass or refer outcome. Unfortunately, the ESF funding does not cover the MHFA England courses as they are not Ofqual rated. Red Umbrella’s instructors are
national instructors with years of experience and have five-star feedback. The full list of available training
