Derby firm earns distribution deal
Derbyshire-based AB Components Ltd has been appointed as UK distributor for the worldwide company Filtration Group, which purchased Mahle Industrial Filtration (suppliers of air and hydraulic filtration products) in 2016. This strengthens the
existing partnership between AB Components and the Filtration Group. It means UK customers will now be able to access specialist filters directly from AB Components’ own dedicated stock, held at its llkeston site. The new setup will enable
UK customers to access technical advice and specialist expertise from the dedicated ABC customer services team and benefit directly from a quicker turnaround and reduced downtime. AB Components, founded by
James Edgar in 2007, began supplying the Filtration Group’s range of industrial filters, formerly the Mahle Industrial Filtration brand, to supplement the company’s range of stock of more than 9,000 different filtration products. James said: “Becoming a UK
distributor for the Filtration Group’s Industrial Hydraulic and Air division (Mahle Group) is exciting for the team at AB Components. The strong reputation and high quality of our industrial filtration range and accessories has always been important to us and to our UK customers.” Ian Micklewright, UK Sales Manager, Filtration Group, added: “We are extremely pleased to appoint AB Components as a UK distributor. “We recognise ABC’s
reputation for high quality customer service and expertise within the UK filter market.”

Distributor completes MBO with support from HSBC UK
Tetenal UK, a market-leader in photographic distribution based in Leicester, has been acquired by its management team after securing a seven-figure funding deal from fellow Chamber member HSBC UK. The funding enables directors Mike Fawcett, Mark
Norman, Verity Adkin and Phil Barker to purchase Tetenal UK from its parent company, Tetenal Europe GMBH. Founded in 1988, Tetenal UK distributes a wide range
of imaging products to the photographic industry. Its products are supplied to over 600 customers domestically and internationally, including a number of high-profile customers. The directors, who have each been at the business
more than ten years, will go from non-shareholders to full-shareholders. With complete autonomy of the business, the new partners will look to expand in the UK and increase its exports internationally by developing Tetenal’s existing product portfolio. Mike Fawcett, Managing Director, said: “It’s a truly
exciting time for the business. My partners and I have over 40 years’ experience at Tetenal UK and with high demand in the marketplace, we’re well poised to grow. In order to facilitate growth domestically and

We have expertise in global markets and our innovative funding solutions are important for Tetenal UK and its international expansion plans. was allocated from the bank’s £12bn SME fund which supports SMEs across the UK. Advisers on the deal included Chamber strategic
partner RSM International and members Mazars, Howes Percival and Browne Jacobson.
Acquisition for One Connectivity
Castle Donington-based One Connectivity is a communications provider that services customers across the UK. After five successful years
trading in business telecoms it was able to move from its base in Nottinghamshire to bigger premises in Castle Donington, Derbyshire. Within three months, One Connectivity acquired Midlands business Elite Telecoms (Midlands) Ltd. One Connectivity and Elite
Telecom have worked together in the past, and felt it was the right time for an acquisition which will allow One Connectivity to recruit further team members and continue with its business growth plans.
Chris Cowling, previous Director
of Elite Telecoms, has joined the team at Castle Donington as part of the acquisition and will ensure client transfers are made seamlessly. Paul Stevenson, Managing
Director of One Connectivity, said: “The acquisition was an obvious move to support our growth and it’s a bonus that it feels completely natural to work with Elite Telecoms.” This hasn’t been the only
