STRATEGIC PARTNERS AND PATRONS
Historic firm develops new identity
An engineering business that can trace its roots back to 1898 is celebrating its 60th anniversary of becoming a limited company - and has appointed full-service marketing agency, and Chamber strategic partner, Purpose Media to develop its future marketing growth strategy. Cullum Detuners, a Chamber member based in Heanor, was founded in London to supply specialist acoustics to the building trade. Its growing expertise in acoustics
and the noise generated by aircraft engines led to its appointment to design a silencer for a jet engine developed by Sir Frank Whittle. In order to capitalise on the
growth in the aerospace industry, Cullum Detuners was formed on 21 April 1959 and the company moved to its current site in Heanor in 1972. Cullum is now a leading supplier of noise control enclosures, acoustic filtration and exhaust systems to the aerospace, energy, marine and nuclear industries. Over the years, the company has
expanded by being at the forefront of innovation and continuously pioneering the advancement of new engineering solutions. To celebrate the milestone
anniversary, the company is planning

appointed to help Cullum revise its marketing strategy and develop a communications programme to launch the new brand identity and market positioning. Claudio Davanzo, Creative
Director at Purpose Media, said:
“We met with the management team to get under the skin of the company and really understand its values. We then combined this with our knowledge of working with owner-managed businesses in the manufacturing and engineering sectors to create design solutions that more fully reflect the innovation and engineering excellence that Cullum delivers. “This new brand identity will
become more visible in practical ways as we help Cullum to
