CONFERENCING & EVENTS

Why a unique venue closer to home can signal success for your event

By Daniel Elliott (pictured), National Sales Manager at Center Parcs Conferences and Events

As the popularity of ‘destination events’ continues to rise, companies are still choosing to spend their budgets on holding their events in far flung locations as opposed to the UK. With so much to offer in the UK, however, it makes business sense to consider the benefits of holding a large event closer to home. From reduced travel time, to cheaper travel costs and

less time needed out of the office, there are a number of benefits to choosing a UK destination for conferences and events. And with a milder climate of late and hopes for another stunning summer, the weather is no excuse to want to head abroad. The UK boasts some fantastic destinations for events,

complete with engaging venues and beautiful settings for delegates to leave the confines of the office and fully immerse themselves in the event and their surroundings. Hosting an event in a destination such as ours can provide

a number of cost saving options, team building activities and a great atmosphere for networking outside of a typical conference or meeting venue. Our forests exude an aura of relaxation and comfort that boosts delegates’ willingness to attend and participate, increasing the quality of the event. The amenities on site allow for meetings that balance

general sessions and breakouts in dedicated, well equipped venues with memorable and invigorating leisure activities and can create an environment for opening minds, stimulating conversation, generating ideas and increasing productivity. Placing event attendees in scenarios they wouldn’t normally encounter as part of a typical conference is beneficial for productivity, personal development and team bonding. These types of destinations make it easy for delegates to mix business with leisure. We pride ourselves on offering a refreshing and unique

alternative to the conference, meetings and events market and actively encourage our clients to make the most of our onsite activities as part of their conference or event, as we know that during the working week it can be difficult to factor in time spent in the natural environment.
