On August 26 1959, the British Motor Corporation unveiled a car that would capture the imagination of the world. Te iconic Mini.


Now, to mark six decades on the road, the brand is introducing a limited run of 500 special edition vehicles for UK customers. Built at the company’s Oxford plant, the Mini 3-door Hatch Cooper S 60 Years Edition (combined fuel consumption: 39.8 – 43.5 mpg; combined CO2 emissions: 129 - 127 g/km) has an automatic transmission, with acceleration from zero to 62 mph in 6.7 seconds.


Finished in British Racing Green IV paint and piano black exterior trim, it has a black roof and exterior mirror caps, special anniversary design bonnet stripes and model exclusive 17-inch light alloy wheels in 60 Years Spoke 2-tone. A 60 Years emblem completes the vehicle, placed on the leſt-


While other manufacturers are announcing their first eco-friendly models, Hyundai is already showcasing the second generation of its IONIQ Hybrid and Plug-in models, with an enhanced IONIQ Electric in the pipeline. With more than 60,000 cars sold since its predecessor’s launch in 2016, the new IONIQ is the world’s first vehicle to come in three distinctly different electrified versions. All are equipped with a comprehensive Hyundai SmartSense technology package as standard, including front collision warnings and avoidance and lane-keeping assist. A Navigation Plus pack is included, providing a larger 8.8 inch touch display with satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth connectivity, concierge service and wireless charging. In addition, a rear view camera, folding exterior mirrors and front and rear park distance control are fited to the vehicle.

Outside, the IONIQ now adds three more colours – Fluidic Metal, Electric Shadow and Liquid Sand – for a total of eight.


To reduce environmental impact, the new IONIQ has been equipped with the world’s first ‘green-zone drive mode’ which automatically switches the vehicle’s power from internal combustion to electric motor in designated areas.


Te IONIQ Hybrid and Plug-In will be introduced in Europe during the second half of this year.


A new engine line-up - 280 PS 2.3-litre EcoBoost petrol and 190 PS 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel - gives drivers up to 12 per cent more power and 17 per cent more torque compared with the previous generation Focus ST. And Ford’s first application of an electronic limited-slip differential for a front-wheel drive vehicle enhances the cornering and stability of the EcoBoost-powered variant.


Te model comes in a choice of six-speed manual or new seven-speed automatic transmissions, and offers Selectable Drive Modes technology for the first time, enabling motorists to adjust the vehicle’s character to suit driving conditions.
