Plymouth-based, IT and unified comms company Acronyms have been named as the headline sponsor for the 2019 Tamar Bridge 10k run. The new event, which starts and

ends in Plymouth at Kings Tamerton Community Centre, will be the first time that a road race has crossed the Tamar Bridge since it was opened in 1962. With a maximum

Director and Founder of Acronyms, said: “Acronyms is delighted to be supporting this new and exciting event. The Tamar Bridge is one of our region’s most iconic landmarks and I’m sure runners from both

customers in both Devon and Cornwall, we’re proud to be involved. While the day job involves providing IT services, an industry stereotyped for unhealthy living, we’re a company of keen runners. We’re glad we can encourage others to turn off their computers, get outside and enjoy local events like this one. “We have a

team of our own raring to go and as well as continuing to provide the event

organisers with technical

support, we’ll also be sending a group of volunteers to assist on the day. This includes a bigger and better jelly baby station that we introduced to the Britain’s Ocean City Half Marathon last year.

Nigel Rowe MBE, Race Director

added: “We are delighted that Acronyms have agreed to be main sponsor of this inaugural Tamar Bridge 10k. This builds upon our partnerships through Britain’s Ocean City Half Marathon and Plymouth 10k.” Acronyms are the current

and Britain’s Ocean City 10k which take part in Plymouth annually every year. They have provided Event West,

the race organisers with technical support, the Run Plymouth website and the volunteer run jelly baby stations at each of their previous events.
