Acronyms takes on the challenge of sponsoring 10k run
Plymouth-based, IT and unified comms company Acronyms have been named as the headline sponsor for the 2019 Tamar Bridge 10k run. The new event, which starts and
ends in Plymouth at Kings Tamerton Community Centre, will be the first time that a road race has crossed the Tamar Bridge since it was opened in 1962. With a maximum
limit of 1,000 runners, the event is sold out with competitors from both Cornwall and Devon already registered for the iconic run. Dave Smith, Managing

customers in both Devon and Cornwall, we’re proud to be involved. While the day job involves providing IT services, an industry stereotyped for unhealthy living, we’re a company of keen runners. We’re glad we can encourage others to turn off their computers, get outside and enjoy local events like this one. “We have a
team of our own raring to go and as well as continuing to provide the event
organisers with technical
support, we’ll also be sending a group of volunteers to assist on the day. This includes a bigger and better jelly baby station that we introduced to the Britain’s Ocean City Half Marathon last year.

and Britain’s Ocean City 10k which take part in Plymouth annually every year. They have provided Event West,
the race organisers with technical support, the Run Plymouth website and the volunteer run jelly baby stations at each of their previous events.
