The history of Saltram House comes to life
The 400 year history of Saltram House & Grounds in Plymouth comes to life with an energetic and engaging animation. This National Trust property is
very popular with its local community and the wider Plymouth audience as well as visitors from further afield. Offering woody walks, groomed gardens, a glorious Georgian mansion and a cosy café, there really is something for everyone. Now the 400 year history of Saltram can be seen through a new three-and-a-half-minute animation. Dave Meadows, Creative Director of Pushed, with his team, a Plymouth-
Saltram House & Grounds
based media and graphic design company, made the animation worked closely with the National Trust staff and historians over many months to ensure its accuracy. He said: “The drawing and animating of the 37 scenes that bring the story to life was a pleasure to work on, it was a lovely process and very often we felt we were really there ourselves. It was designed to appeal to audiences of all ages and has already been viewed thousands of times on line.” Jez McDermott, Saltram’s General Manager, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the end result. The animation captures everything that we
had asked for and has already been well received by a whole host of audiences. It is a tool that we will be sure to use for many, many years to come. This animated short film has lots of personality and leaves you with a real sense of ‘knowing the characters’, some good and some not so.
