The Chamber Network is focused on the practicalities of Brexit for business communities across the UK. Since the decision to leave the EU, the BCC has campaigned for answers to the pragmatic concerns of business. As the UK approaches its departure from the EU, it’s crucial that businesses are doing all they can to prepare for the future. SW Chambers Trading Through Brexit - Support for Business
Businesses in the South West can access support on Brexit to help them cut through the confusion and plan better for trading successfully through Brexit and beyond. A dedicated site, launched by Business West in October 2018, offers firms a one-stop-shop where they can locate vital information and seek advice. Led by Business West Director of Policy Matt Griffith, an experienced
business adviser with expertise in trade negotiations and economy policy, Trading Through Brexit is a free guidance service that you can trust, that aims to deliver the latest planning information as negotiations and eventual EU exit unfold. In addition, the service encourages businesses to submit any questions
they have about how Brexit might impact their business. The Trading Through Brexit team of experts have been busy addressing as
many questions as possible since launch, ranging from VAT issues to importing food, from providing suppliers with contingency plans to loss of a skilled workforce. Plus, a round-up of key topics raised through questions, trade related insights and links to valuable resources are shared through regular email updates.

The Government have released technical notices to advise businesses on what a no deal situation would mean. The Government remains fully committed to getting the best deal for the UK, however as a responsible government it’s important that we continue to prepare for all scenarios. There is also a HMRC
Partnership Pack available. These provide a high-level guide to processes and procedures that are likely to apply to cross-border activity between the UK and the EU in a ‘no deal’ scenario. The pack is designed to help intermediaries and trade bodies support businesses and individuals to prepare if we exit the EU without a deal. It explains how trade, processes and regulations at the UK border will change after 29 March 2019, and what traders, businesses and individuals operating at the UK border will need to do from 29 March 2019.
