THE DART MUSIC FESTIVAL 2019 Did you know?...

The festival weekend attracts over 20,000 people to the town.

Of the £70,000 it costs to put on, around £25,000 is raised through sponsorship by local businesses and Festival Friends.

The Music Festival’s ethos of ‘Music For All’ ensures that all of the acts staged over the weekend are free to enjoy for everybody.

■ Over 100 acts perform a plethora of genres in a variety of amazing locations, including an ancient fort, the ramparts of old castle walls, a fisherman’s church, an 11th century church, the river and, of course, the Victorian Bandstand.

Outside catering and other market traders are a strict no-no, ensuring that all the revenue brought to Dartmouth by music festival goers stays in the pockets of the local businesses.

■ The whole event, including the year long run up, is brought together entirely by a small band of (mildly exhausted) volunteers.

An indefatigable army of volunteer collectors and bucket rattlers raise a hefty 40% of the revenue needed to produce the festival – and get a volunteers’ party in thanks!

Our 2018 innovation of DMF branded reusable plastic glasses has been a massive success, and will continue in 2019.

The Music Festival Foundation provides much needed funds and support for burgeoning young musicians in the South West, thus continuing the leg- acy of the Dart Music Festival into the next generation.

This year’s transition to a registered charity means that the DMF can claim back Gift Aid on any private donations, enabling the festival even greater benefits from your generosity.

We have retained our partnership with Devon Contract Waste to provide a Zero-to-Landfill festival, reducing our carbon footprint still further.

Both the contemporary and classical music teams ensure that local musicians are showcased every year.

Both private and business sponsors receive a compli- mentary copy of our iconic yellow programme, with their name listed within, and a sponsor’s badge.

2019 sees the launch of the much anticipated DMF App! Simply download it from the app store for the same price as a paper programme, and access all of the information you need at the touch of a screen.

The ‘Eat, Stay, Shop’ section of our website which lists information about sponsors received over 10,000 hits in the first week of May alone in 2018!

Our fabulously fashionable cloth wristbands will be making a return this year by popular demand – and this year the cool kids can join in with our brilliant new children’s wristbands.

■ You can get ahead of the curve in 2019 by subscribing to our excit- ing new YouTube channel, which showcases some of the amazing acts that will be performing in 2019 www.youtube.com/channel/UCdU- 2g0unVy_Ufs8SAk2Owqg

Last year’s fantastically success- ful Spotify play list, showcasing the year’s acts, has returned, so simply log in to Spotify, search for ‘Dart Music Festival 2019’ and click on ‘Follow’.
