MANAGING YOUR PTA – Leavers’ gifts

Do PTAs fund gifts?

PTA-purchased leavers’ gifts can be the subject of debate. Most PTAs are set up to ‘advance the education of pupils’, therefore some feel that leavers’ gifts aren’t an appropriate use of PTA funds, as they benefi t only a select group of pupils. But if you give leavers’ gifts every year then all children in the school will eventually benefi t. Or work out a joint-payment scheme with the school, where the PTA pays half the cost and the school pays the other half.
