My heart is starting to beat faster. It’s one of those days where it should still be light but the dismal rainyweather has brought the darkness on early. I’ve quickened by pace but I can still hear the footsteps behind me growing ever faster, constantly falling in with my own quickening pace. Myheartbeat starts to thunder inmy ears. Who is it follow- ing me? Why me? It’s freezing cold butmy anxiety is causing me to sweat and the heat starts to stifle me. I can’t help it, I blow my contrived nonchalance and break into a run. I sud- denly trip, fall and the next thing I know gravel is embedding itself into the palms ofmy hands. I don’t have time to feel the pain, I look behind me and a dark silhouette looms seconds away from me...
