TOP ACCOLADE FOR LEGAL TEAM
A multiple award-winning law firm has received another national accolade. The Private Client including
the Court of Protection Team, and the Marketing Team at Wilson Browne Solicitors were both Highly Commended at this year’s Law Society awards. The fantastic result
essentially means they came a very close second out of 9,000 firms from across the country. Partner Kevin Rogers said:
“We are so thrilled that our excellent Private Client and Court of Protection Team has been Highly Commended at The Law Society awards. “On behalf of the Partners I
am immensely proud of all of our staff; it is great recognition for all of their hard work and dedication as well as being a reflection of the ethos of the wider firm. “These awards are a real
‘who’s who’ of solicitors firms, with many large London practices dominating. It is no mean feat to be mentioned in the same circles, and is a real testament to the service that we provide.”
LOTTERY GRANT SET TO BOOST TEAMWORK
New staff, more volunteering opportunities, greater community involvement and an even bigger impact on the lives of vulnerable adults – that’s what Teamwork Trust is able to deliver thanks to a £500,000 National Lottery grant. Northamptonshire Chamber of
Commerce Charity of the Year, Teamwork Trust, supports adults with mental health needs, learning and physical disabilities. The three-year funding boost
from the National Lottery will enable Teamwork Trust to begin its
exciting ‘Making a Service User Strategy a Reality’ project. Strategic director John Bruce
said: “We have huge plans for how the National Lottery funding will be used to help us support some of the county’s most vulnerable adults even better. “Some will be used to develop
better processes for our service- users to participate in the future planning of our services, and enable us to create new and improved pathways for individuals to progress into employment or education to
become valued members of society. Our plans to grow our workforce is key, and will result in greater partnership working and better choice for those with mental health challenges, learning difficulties, physical and sensory disabilities in the community too.” Teamwork Trust has made
incredible progress over the last 18 months as it pioneers new ways for local charities to provide social care services – winning awards, including Northamptonshire Business Awards’ Employer of the Year.

A FIRM WITH HEART AND SOLE
A historic footwear company, whose clients have included Winston Churchill, the Duke of Windsor, Cary Grant, Fred Astaire and Paul Newman, has opened its new factory in Northampton. Foster & Son was founded in
London in 1840 and since the 1950s it has been based in Jermyn Street where it established itself as a leading bespoke shoemaker. To complement its bespoke
offering, in the 1960s the company started offering a ready-to-wear product which has always been made in Northampton. Chairman Richard Edgecliffe- Johnson took ownership of the
company in 2006 with a goal to have his own shoe factory to produce ready to wear products. At the end of October his ambition was fulfilled with the official opening of Foster & Son’s new factory in St James Mill Road, Northampton. CEO Matthew Allen said:
“Northamptonshire has such a strong history of shoe making. Here we can easily find the most skilled craftspeople who share our values to produce the finest footwear possible. Our new factory is equipped with carefully selected machinery and the latest lighting, extraction and energy efficiency

technology. The comfort of the workshop team has also been considered with climate control and a lighting system that provides the optimum levels for detailed work. “We have a vast archive of unique
styles made for discerning clients over the years. The product made by our new factory has been based on this archive and we’ve paid particular attention to ensure the shoes made in Northampton reflect the brand’s heritage and DNA.” The products made in
Northampton will be sold globally by the firm’s wholesale partners. It also plans to open several Foster & Son stores around the world.
