BUSINESS REPORT

NOW TOWN CAN BANK ON METRO

Metro Bank, the revolution in British banking, is set to open its first East Midlands store in Northampton on 16 November, creating around 25 new jobs. After bringing the revolution to

sites across London and the South East over the past eight years, the new store marks Metro Bank’s most northerly presence in the UK. Serving residents from

Wellingborough to Banbury and beyond, the seven-day-a-week store will combine traditional face- to-face banking with state-of-the- art technology, providing residents and businesses with a customer- centric and convenient banking experience. Craig Donaldson, CEO at Metro

Bank said: “We’re delighted to be opening a store in Northampton and showing the community what great customer service and convenience looks like. “From early in the morning until

late at night, seven-days-a-week our colleagues will be at hand offering traditional relationship banking, supported by state-of-the- art technology. “We look forward to welcoming

local residents and businesses to the banking revolution over the coming weeks and months.”

BLUEFISH SPLASH OUT AS GROWTH CONTINUES

The Bluefish Group, based in Northampton, has acquired Halcyon Office Solutions, which is also located in the town. The acquisition is the fourth for The Bluefish

Group, which sells office products, furniture and printing supplies, and is part of a wider growth plan which has seen the Bluefish Group expand across the East Midlands. Halcyon Office Solutions has been operating for 30

years and has made a name for itself in the education sector, supplying stationery, furniture, computer hardware and accessories, and other office products to schools and education trusts. The Bluefish Group managing

director Mark Heath said: “We are proud to announce this acquisition. Bluefish has been operating since 2000 and has grown consistently year on year in that time. “We see Halcyon as
