1st Bucks Rifle Volunteer Corps Officer’s Green Cloth Helmet c. 1878 - 1901, a superb example of rounded front peak pattern complete with all blackened plated mounts, the frontal plate being a crowned Bath style style cross with central circle ‘1st Bucks Rifle Volunteer Corps’, in the fretted centre the white swan on a red cloth ground, chin chain of correct ribbed pattern, retailed by Hobson & Sons, London together with its japanned metal carrying case this with a pasted contemporary label Dannett, the helmet extremely fine the tin rusted overall otherwise in sound condition

2nd Lancashire Rifle Volunteers (Blackburn) Officer’s Blue Cloth Helmet c. 1880-89, a good quality example, the skull complete with all silver plated fittings, the frontal plate of crowned star pattern with a laurel overlay enclosing a circular strap ‘Lancashire Rifle Volunteers’, in the centre a strung bugle horn with ‘2’ within the strings, the chin chain of ribbed Rifles pattern, buff leather sweat band, crimson silk lining, the plate not original to the helmet, very fine overall condition £400-500
