Edward Evans was born at Wantage, Berkshire, on 17 May 1883, and enlisted for the Royal Marines in London on 3 February 1903, being posted to the Portsmouth Division on 17 December 1903. He was embarked aboard the dreadnought battleship Conqueror from December 1914 until March 1919, seeing action at the battle of Jutland. He was discharged on 2 February 1924, on termination of his second period of engagement, and died on 30 November 1962.

Victor J. P. Thompson attested for the 1st Life Guards and served as a Corporal with them during the Great War on the Western Front from 5 August 1915. He subsequently transferred to the Guards Machine Gun Regiment.
906 Three: Second Lieutenant H. C. N. Daniell, Hertfordshire Yeomanry

Henry Charles Nugent Daniell was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Hertfordshire Yeomanry, and served with the 1st Battalion during the Great War in the Egypt theatre of War from September 1914. The Battalion subsequently proceeded to Gallipoli in 1915, and then to the Western Front in March 1916. He is shown in the 1918 Army List as having been promoted Lieutenant (employed Ministry of Munitions) on 1 June 1916, and his Medal Index Card lists his final rank as Captain- presumably he was wounded at some stage, possibly in Gallipoli, and being no longer fit for the front was confined to a desk job in the U.K. for the rest of the War.

William Frederick Sanderson was born at Willesden, Middlesex, on 24 June 1866 and attested for the Hertfordshire Regiment of Yeomanry Cavalry at Islington, London, on 4 February 1896. He was awarded his Imperial Yeomanry Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in May 1906, and was advanced Squadron Quartermaster Sergeant on 16 May 1908. Following the outbreak of the Great War he was embodied into the Hertfordshire Yeomanry on 5 August 1914, and, landing in Alexandria on 26 September 1914, served in the Egyptian theatre of War from 5 November 1914, subsequently serving in Gallipoli. He was wounded by a gun shot wound to the back in Gallipoli on 2 October 1915, and was invalided to the U.K. on 29 November of that year. He was discharged, time expired, on 9 April 1916, aged 50, and was awarded a Silver War Badge.
