Royal Engineers (Territorial Force) Officer’s Blue Cloth Helmet c. 1908 -14 and Named Carrying Tin, the skull complete with all gilt metal fittings, the frontal plate of Royal Arms pattern with laurel leaf short scroll and lower scroll ‘Quo Fas Et Gloria Ducunt’ (KK 860), buff leather sweatband with crimson silk lining and further quilted silk crown lining, the plate is not original to the helmet but may well be a replacement for the preceding pattern (KK 856). The sweatband has also an ink inscription ‘W.Boyle’. The carrying tin with retailer’s brass plaque ‘Hill Bros, 3, Old Bond St., London’ and further brass plaque ‘Herbert C. Agnew, Royal Engineers’, very good overall condition (2)
