that of the General Secretary, were keenly received. Elections of Council Members & Vice Presidents for the ensuing year were held. May I welcome the new & re-elected members.
They all play a vital role for The MAA. We must also mention the sterling work that The
Area Advisors do for our Association. They support the membership locally & provide a
wealth of knowledge & experience. Like the Members of the Council – all their work &

Dear MAA Members, I trust that 2018 is going well for our members, I am
happy to report that the MAA remains very busy, looking after our member’s issues, their questions, problems & challenges. David, our Secretary General, says that he has seen
a rise in members needing our Contract Reading Service. This must mean that our members are taking on new agencies. There seems to be a good number of Principals seeking new agents too! This is all positive news & shines through the clouds of anguish in the media like the bright sun we have seen this summer! As President- it was a pleasure to chair my first
Annual General Meeting held on 12th July. All went very well. The Accounts were approved. My Report,&
efforts are purely voluntarily while at the same time keeping their own businesses going! We all appreciate their time & expense in keeping
The MAA in full fettle. I am very pleased to recognise Ian Hart as our
Agent of The Year 2018. Well done Ian! There is a full feature about Ian & the Award later
in this edition. I am looking forward to our “Harvest” Seminar in
September in Coventry. Our General Secretary has been very busy
developing the Programme for the day. Please make every to attend & support the event. I
hope to see you there! If you have not booked in please give it some
consideration and come along – it could be the investment your agency needs… May I wish you every success for the remainder of
2018.
Best regards Mel Kendrick President of The MAA
