With regret –we were very sad to hear that Ms Sam Lake passed away at the age of 53 years old on 7th January this year with a liver infection. Senior Members will recall that Sam worked

closely with Paul Wakeling at the Harpenden office when he was Secretary General of the MAA. She always ploughed effectively through the


mounds of varied paperwork, and was always very good on the phone with the MAA members. She ably supported our Seminars and will be


much missed by her many friends. She will always be remembered by the then


members of the Council for our trip to Towcester where, taking advice from her father on the phone, she went home with a handbag stuffed with cash! Paul Wakeling attended her funerl on 6th


February at Garston Crematorium on behalf of the MAA.
