RAMRodeo Tour Kicks Off the 21st Season in Burford!
The Burford
RAM Rodeo kicked off the 21st year of the RAM Rodeo Tour re- cently. This small town
community
hosted its first ever rodeo with great suc- cess. Fun was had by all with live music performances by Ty Baynton, kid’s activi- ties and the wild and western action of rodeo! Competitors sure
came out to play with some great runs and rides all weekend long! The Dickies Novice
Bucking
Horse event saw some great covered rides by Brendan Bowie, Mason Duijsens with Kevin Ouelett taking home the win. The Burford Fairgrounds arena allowed for some
very quick times in the Alberta Premium Barrel Racing with Barb Millar winning the event with a speedy run of 15.42 seconds. System Fencing Pole Bending saw the top 2 runs in under 22 seconds by 2017 RAM Rodeo Finals Champion, Cayla Mursall with 21.75 seconds and Denise Stoddart with a smoking 21.62 seconds to win the week- end!
Bucking Bull contractor, Joe Shaw, brought a great
pen of bulls for the RAM event with the stock winning the overall event. The Case IH youth events saw some great wins over the weekend, congratulations to the winners: Courtney Schum in Youth Barrel Racing, Deirdre Smullen in Youth Pole Bending and Austin Illman in Youth Steer Riding! The Mark’s Medical Team really stepped it up this weekend when one of our staff members was injured during the rodeo performance.

It was an incredible weekend as a record number of
fans filled the stands all weekend long, cheering on cow- boys and cowgirls as they competed, along with the en- tertainment of the Canadian Cowgirls Precision Drill Team. The cowboys and cowgirls put on a great show all
weekend long with top runs and rides. The Alberta Pre- mium saw some very fast barrel racing times with just 1 tenth of a second separating first and second place, con- gratulations to weekend winner Cayla Mursall on her run of 15.97 seconds. This cowgirl then switched horses and made a wicked
run in the Equine Choice Pole Bending to win that event too with a time of 21.65 seconds! The cowboys of the Dickies Novice Bucking Horse event had some great rides with Mason Duijsens winning Saturday’s event and
