OUT & ABOUT

Your lane, your way

After almost 25 years as Rotherham’s family favourite attraction, Superbowl continues to be the King Pin of the bowling world thanks to its recent £350,000 investment both on and off the lanes.

Bringing all the fun of bowling

into the 21st century, the new experience at Superbowl is innovative, imaginative and exciting for all ages. This summer, be a part of the

action with the new interactive touch screen displays that let you put a whole new spin on traditional ten- pin bowling. Making bowling amazing for

both little and big kids, there are a

‘‘with live running commentary throughout each frame – you can even see the speed of every throw’’

variety of different features that mean no player has to be left on the bench. Become an on-screen star as

you take selfies of each bowler to turn into animated characters that will be cheering you on throughout the game. Strike up lots of laughter as you pull funny and sad faces and watch as your photo comes to life on screen in the hilarious YouToons characters. Use your photo as the backdrop

to your score sheet in Selfie Grids or head into one of 18 different realms in the Themed Bowling section. Here, you can transport your game to the depths of the ocean, the pages of a fairytale storybook or even the prehistoric land before time. You don’t even have to stick with

one theme; change it up as you go along. The new software is so easy to use, with staff on hand if you get stuck. For the serious contenders,

Bowling Plus will be right up your alley. Test out your competitive streak with live running commentary throughout each frame – you can even see the speed of every throw. If you’re not topping the leader

board, don’t be stuck in the gutter. You could be in with a chance of winning a prize as the Lucky Train makes random appearances across the new flat screen monitors. If this virtual train lands on your lane, you could be a champion after all. With bumper to bumper fun

seven days a week, Superbowl isn’t just for the kids; grab your friends or colleagues for a night out with a difference. Along with 16 lanes upstairs, there are also a further eight lanes downstairs which can

be hired out exclusively, perfect for parties or a team building activity. Battle it out on the lanes against

your colleagues in Rocky Road Race, an interactive race to the finish where the more you score the faster the cars go round the track. And as the summer sun fades,

the fun continues long into the night as the lanes light up while the pins go down. While the technology has been

overhauled and the lanes have been renewed for a smoother, faster bowling experience, the heart of Superbowl still remains the same. Stop for a pit-stop break at the bar area, grab a bite to eat at the beloved Wimpy food court or carry on the fun with the many arcade games. Holding special memories

for both young and old, the future looks bright at Rotherham Superbowl.
