August 25 - 27 Plant Hunters’ Weekend
Lullingstone Castle & World Garden, Eynsford
Celebrating the lives of some of Britain’s most intrepid plant hunt- ers, Tom Hart-Dyke and friends in Victorian dress lead free guided tours of the World Garden at 1.30 – 3.30pm - join at any time! Second Chance Animal Rescue (SCAR) will have some special ani- mals and reptile guests joining the garden tour. SCAR expert handlers will showcase different animals to see amongst the continents to truly bring the tour alive. Visitors are offered a unique glimpse into the past to experience an authentic plant hunter’s expedition camp, complete with plant presses, roar- ing fire, porters and canvas tents. Admission charge £10 per adult and children under 15 free entry. 11am – 5pm
Kent Life has scooped up some of the region’s top ice cream vendors, chocolatiers and sweet stalls to tickle your tastebuds with more than 20 varieties of ice cream and other sweet treats. Learn how ice cream is made in the ice cream workshop and take part in the regular animal activi- ties in the park.

Military odyssey Kent Showground, Detling
Military Odyssey celebrates its 18th year, with groups covering a vast period of global history, including Romans, Vikings, Medieval, the English Civil War, Napoleonic, the American Civil War, the Wild West, World Wars I & II, Vietnam right up to the present day. With over 4,000 re-enactors and living history enthusiasts in attendance as well as over 250 stalls, Military Odyssey is the world’s largest multi-period re- enactment show. The 200-acre site has two separate arenas in addition to the main battlefield, where battlefield re-enactments take place all weekend. There are numerous food courts on site, including a Beer Tent as well toilet facilities. Buy tickets online or at the gate.
