SCHOOL FOR MERMAIDS


Warwick School has a magnificent 25m heated indoor swimming pool which can accommodate many aquatic sports and is used regularly by local swimming and other aquatic clubs.


The amenity provides excellent facilities as a means to educate and encourage the boys and girls of the Warwick School Foundation to participate in sporting activities. During out of school hours they offer sports and


fitness, seven days a week which is available to the wider community of Warwick and the surrounding areas. This includes a premier swim school.


As well as swimming, the venue hosts its own scuba, kayaking and water polo clubs. The pool hosts many swimming galas for local and national competitions. Every school holiday the school runs own holiday activity camps where the pool is used for a variety of activities including Water Zorbing.


The pool can even be hired for children’s parties and they even have their own staff member trained in ‘Mermaid Swimming’ themed parties.

“We often split lanes or reconfigure the lanes to accommodate everyone,” explains Hassan.


“Whilst the standards of education and the schools ethos are the key attraction for pupils, having fantastic facilities sets us apart from other schools in the sector,” he continues.


“If I could make a wish, I would ask to build an exact replica pool on site, or increase the number of hours in the day, so I can accommodate all stakeholders,” Hassan adds.


Hassan says the Latymer community is a working example of what can be achieved when the community pull together. “The community ate, drank, rowed and cycled for Latymer, to name just a few fundraising activities,” he adds.
