Swimming Pool Scene 5
We are great fans, here at the Swimming Pool Scene office, of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) that takes a common sense approach to issues affecting small businesses, akin to many in the water leisure sector.
Recently, the FSB has been waxing lyrical about the Carillion catastrophe and specifically, the construction giant’s shocking 120 day payment terms that have destroyed small firms all over the country.
New FSB research finds that the share of small businesses that are increasing wages for employees is at a three- and-a-half year high. ONS statistics revealed that average weekly earnings increased by 2.9% compared to last year.
The FSB is also championing excellence in businesses that grow their own talent with apprenticeships, and apprentices who have made a significant contribution to their workplaces.
All very poignant messages for the pool industry.
In our privileged position as observers to the water leisure sector, we are proud to bring you, in this latest issue, news of some outstanding business successes. We relish the opportunity in the latest edition to offer you some stunning projects and even more outstanding people.
We delve into the Fun Factor and the essential role aquatic play has to play in the popularity of public pools. We show how counter current systems are Packing A Punch in both pool construction and retrofit markets and we delve into Tomorrow’s World to report on some of the latest technical breakthroughs in our industry.
We hope your June issue of Swimming Pool Scene both entertains, informs but most of all inspires you.
