The Employment and Skills Summit gives


delegates an opportunity to discuss challenges and opportunities around this key area


Summit strengthens link between school and work


Now in its fifth year, the Employment and Skills Summit takes place on 20 June and will continue to deliver against the Chamber’s manifesto aim to strengthen the link between education and the world of work, thus creating an environment to improve competitiveness, innovation and productivity levels. The summit will bring together businesses, education providers and policy makers to discuss the practical ways


in which the business and the education sector can work together more effectively to deliver the skills required for economic growth in the East Midlands. It will include a series of workshops, panel discussions, guest speakers and exhibitors, with an emphasis on practical takeaways.

The first quarter of 2018 has seen a number of major Chamber events take place with fantastic audiences, great content and excellent hospitality. The success of these events in part is down to the support of our event sponsors. Information-led events included


the Corporate Social Responsibility Summit held in partnership with Chamber Patron Ryley Wealth Management in February and the Manufacturing and Engineering Conference in March, sponsored by Geldards. We celebrated the Enterprising


Women Awards 2018 in early March, supported by a range of Chamber members, with Pick Everard headline sponsor. Other sponsors included B Audio Visual, CBA Business Solutions, Derby


Enterprising Women Awards host Emma Jesson
