Honorary professorship For Neil Carmichael


Neil Carmichael, former Chair of the House of Commons Education Select Committee, has joined the University of Nottingham as Honorary Professor in the Schools of Education and Politics and International Relations. Neil served as the Member of

Following another year of successful growth, Ryley Wealth Management has added to, and restructured, its management team. Ruth Harrison has been


appointed as Managing Director, replacing Phil Bloxham, who has moved to a non-executive director role. As part of the restructure Stephanie Francis becomes Administration Director and Adam Langham, Technical Director. Ruth joined Ryley Wealth Management in July 2016 as Operations Manager, responsible for successfully implementing


fundamental changes to the company’s processes during a period of significant development. Ruth has more than 30 years’


experience in the wealth management industry, 24 of which were managing teams of advisers and paraplanners in a major high street bank. Phil will continue to bring his 40

The Board of Buxton International Festival has announced that Michael Williams has been appointed to be the new CEO of the Festival. Michael, currently Managing


Director of Cape Town Opera, will take up his new post in Buxton in April.


Michael has led the way in


establishing Cape Town Opera as the leading opera company in South Africa and has brought the company to global attention. He is a writer and librettist and


has written four operas for young people, all of which toured South Africa, as well as a number of young adult and crime novels. Michael said: “I am delighted to


have been invited to be the Chief Executive Officer for Buxton International Festival. at partner level and Jeff brings a wealth of experience that will help Scarsdale Vets’ future development. As a co-founder of Vets4Pets, he took the company from a start-up to 100 sites when it was sold in 2013.
