Kennedy's Bakery Production Industry News Raising agents on the rise
According to a recently published fore- cast study by Future Market Insights, the global raising agents market is poised to expand at a moderate pace in the foreseeable future.
Providing the lightness to food items such as cakes and breads has led food and beverage companies towards adopt- ing raising agents to their production methods.
For their specific function in releasing gas when the mixture gets heated, raising agents are important in the production of cakes and several other bakery items as
they make them fluffy and creamy at the core.
Key insights from the study reveal: the global raising agents market is expected to register a value CAGR of 3.2% for the forecast period, 2017-2026. In terms of volume, the study estimates that by the end of 2026, over 3,300 tonnes of raising agents will be sold across the globe. Furthermore, it is anticipated that the demand for raising agents will witness a considerable traction on the back of their effective applications in production of confectioneries.
The consumption of raising agents
through direct or indirect sales is ex- pected to be high in European countries. In 2017, Europe’s raising agents market was estimated to be valued at nearly $11 million. The report further revealed that in the same year, direct sales and wholesal- ers accounted for more than $9 million revenues procured in the global raising agents market. Increasing consumption of confectioneries, prevalent demand for baked goods, and easy access to natural raising agents are observed to drive the growth of Europe’s raising agents market during the forecast period.
New president for Tromp Group
Tromp Group, an interna- tional bakery equipment manufacturer based in The Netherlands, has announced the promotion of Richard van Heukelum to President. Effective from January 1, 2018, Richard (pictured) has taken over the duties of his brother Robert.
In this new role, Richard will manage the company’s day-to-day operations, while creating and delivering the company’s vision and overall mission. He will also combine his activities with sales and
marketing alongside his lead- ership of the company.
Richard joined Tromp
Group in 2015 as vice-presi- dent of sales and marketing, leading the expansion of the company’s international sales and global brand awareness.

Safety award for AMP Rose
To recognise industrial companies with best-in-class safety, Rockwell Automa- tion has announced UK-based equip- ment builder A.M.P Rose as the winner of its fifth annual Manufacturing Safety Excellence Awards.
