he year may still be its infancy, but KBP has already witnessed a great deal of activity within the bakery sector in these first few weeks of 2018 – a great deal of which took place at the ever-interesting ProSweets and ISM exhibitions out in Cologne at the end of January.
The Kennedy’s team was out in
force at the show for the first of many trips this year – and we’re pleased to now deliver some immediate post-show coverage in this edition.

This month’s cover story also serves as the latest entry in KBP’s renowned One-to-One interview series, and the article – titled Two great families serve as one – fea- tures an in-depth conversation between Angus Kennedy and Daniel Troxler of Buhler, and Thomas Breg of Haas. As I’m sure you’re aware, these key players in the bakery world recently joined forces, and we were lucky enough to speak exclusively with them, as one partnership, for the very first time. The interview contains some very eye-opening revelations, so do have a full read through!
ProSweets may be now be in the
rear-view mirror, but the exhibitions are coming thick and fast all year long – and this is reflected in our pre-show coverage throughout our
latest issue here. Anuga is rapidly approaching this March, so we have a page devoted to this; and iba, a true giant of a show, is already on our radar too, despite being over six months away. We have a very early bird look ahead to this show, with the promise of more to come on iba throughout the year as we draw closer to the event.
I’d also like to take a moment
to remind you that our May / June issue is our annual Who’s Who edition, in which we review the major companies in the industrial bakery sector and provide a full overview of each of all of their capabilities. Editorial and advertising packages are available, so if you are interested in participating, do drop us a line to
mponti@kennedys.co.uk – and my colleague Mason Ponti will be in touch.
In the meantime, I do hope you enjoy the content we’ve packed into this month’s issue, and let’s hope 2018 continues to prove as prosper- ous for the industry as these early months have suggested!
