Atlantic City, or AC, as it is often called, has increasingly become known for its thriving culinary scene, too, with some of the top chefs in the industry bringing their restaurants to the resort. Top names like Bobby Flay, Guy Fieri, Michael Symon, Jose Garces, Gordon Ramsay and others, alongside other nationally acclaimed locales such as The Palm, Cuba Libre, and Buddakan. In 2016, Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa spent $50 million on projects, including an outdoor swimming pool, a beer garden, and a new eatery. The pool area can be used for swimming during the day and as an entertain- ment gathering spot at night. Premier, a new nightclub, opened here in 2016, as well, with a space designed to effect “a theatrical experience for partygoers.” Finally, Borgata’s new Central Conference Center has added 18,000-square feet of space to the property’s meeting and event offerings, while a new restaurant by celebrity chef Michael Symon also opened at Borgata.
Harrah’s Atlantic City’s $250 million Waterfront Conference Center opened in late 2015 and is the largest convention center/hotel complex from Baltimore to Boston and offers two 50,000-square foot ballrooms that can each be divided into as many as 29 individual sections while offering state-of-the-art, technologically advanced services and amenities. In addition, Harrah’s has renovated 450 rooms and suites in its Bayview Tower, and The Pool at Harrah’s has been revamped to include a new stage, furniture, and décor.
Beer Garden at Borgata Hotel, Casino and Spa
Tropicana has finalized a $50 million reno- vation, including boardwalk facade enhancements, hotel room upgrades and expansion throughout the property. “The Trop” opened a multimillion-dollar AtlantiCare LifeCenter, which features the most advanced gym facility in Atlantic City and offers state-of-the-art equipment throughout. In addition, Tropicana reno- vated 500 hotel rooms in its Havana Tower and remade the South Tower casi- no area, added new shows to the proper- ty’s outdoor Multimedia Light and Sound Show, expanded gaming space, and debuted Ivan Kane’s Kiss Kiss a Go-Go nightclub.
