Meeting room at The Lodge at Woodloch in Hawley, PA

able team building that includes our signature activities, including Boat Building, Scavenger Hunt, Amazing Race, Game Shows, Wellness Programs, and more.”

While Woodloch offers a wide range of traditional meeting and conference rooms, the resort also boasts many alterna- tive meeting spaces that include the comfort of a large liv- ing room, the ability to sit fireside, or to enjoy a boardroom boat ride on the property’s adjacent lake.

Woodloch is an ideal venue for hosting retreats because of its ability to offer so many options for both work and leisure. For example, a blended meeting experience at the resort might feature: yoga prior to breakfast; breakfast followed by a meeting; lunch (preferably served outdoors, if possi- ble); a team building activity; an afternoon meeting; cock- tails and socialization prior to dinner; dinner served with stations to further encourage group interaction; after dinner cocktails; and then a “Minute to Win It” style game to round out the day.

Often, when the planner structures one of these retreats, they seek to find a balance of both work and fun.

According to Bloch, “Planners want their attendees to walk away with positive memories from a productive meeting experience. Allowing guests a few hours of ‘free time’ during a meeting can be priceless. Planning events in the evening, such as a campfire, a game of Texas Hold ‘em, or a movie night, are just a few possibilities to encourage team cama- raderie into the early evening hours.”

In addition, attendees can enjoy fresh air on the resort’s out- door nature trails by taking a leisurely walk or enjoying a brisk bike ride (rental bikes are available), or they can dis- cuss business, unwind, and simultaneously work on their form as they enjoy one or more of the nearby golf courses. Woodloch even offers special rates as a way to encourage attendees to arrive early or extend their stay and take advan- tage of all the activities and facilities on-site, notes Bloch.

When it comes to on-site dining for executive retreats, she explains that F&B is very important and “we can offer farm- to-table dining or hearty meal options, everything from a la carte to family-style to buffet dining. We can help to create unique dining options and serve guests in our outdoor ven- ues, weather permitting."
