Another start of another new year, and it’s time for another stab at sticking to resolutions that help keep us healthy. I am, of course, talking about New Year resolutions – the promises so many of us make yet find it impossible to keep for more than a week or two. This year my resolution is not to make New Year
resolutions. At least not in January. Because when you think about it, January is arguably the worst time to do anything that requires willpower. It’s cold and dark outside, and
summer seems as far away as it will ever be. Motivating yourself can be tricky at the best of times, but January has to be the worst. In this issue of All About Health we look at some of the New Year resolutions
celebrities make. And American talk show host Ellen DeGeneres echoes my sentiments exactly. “Who wants to go jogging in the freezing cold?” she asks. I couldn’t have put it better myself. But the good news is you can give yourself the best chance of success when it
comes to improving your health this year – whether you make your resolutions in January or July. And we’ve got all the advice you need to do just that. Perhaps you want to give up smoking, lose weight, do more exercise or take a more proactive approach to your health in general? There’s loads of advice that can help here in these pages – I’m sure you’ll find something to help you achieve your health goals in the short term and throughout 2018.
