Here we are once again heading towards the end of another busy year, and what a hectic one it has been at for us all at the PDA. We started off on a positive note with our recruitment drive during what can sometimes
be a quiet time of the year. Paul Whitehead, our recruiter has done a sterling job since he joined the team a few years ago. Additionally, we have maintained and grown successful relationships with our partners across the sector. Our events calendar throughout the year has been an amazing achievement by all
involved, so thank you to everyone for your participation. The Strategy Committee has been hard at work during the past twelve months in developing
our proposed management restructure towards the ends of 2018. New blood brings new ideas and different initiatives so there are exciting times ahead! I’m very much looking forward to working alongside our newly formed Management Board as it commences its work. I wish to thank our immediate past President, Stuart Yates, for his dedication and hard
work during his year of office. Sammy Davies is taking on the role of President during 2018. I’m sure Sammy will meet many of you during his term of office. During the coming twelve months I will continue to work alongside our partners to help
raise the profile of our Association, whilst at the same time securing new benefits for you, our Members. As an example, Crown Paints will be issuing a new loyalty card that can be used at CDC depots across the country. Full details on this will be coming very shortly. The next stage of the PDA website upgrade will take place in early 2018 with advanced
Member profile pages that will include areas for you to upload images of your work as well as customer reviews. 2018 also sees the 30th Anniversary of the Premier Trophy Awards. Application forms
need to be back to us by 12 January 2018. The Apprentice Trophy Awards Competition is also now open for applications so please do
put forward these young people to help showcase their talents and give them the confidence to go forward into a worthwhile and satisfying career. The closing date for entries is 23 February 2018. As Membership renewal time approaches, we have a
superb Graco hand held spray machine that we will be giving away in a prize draw to the lucky Member who pays their subscription by 28 February 2018. I look forward to continuing to represent you via our
Association at all levels over the ensuing year. On behalf of myself, the office team and National Council, may I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a successful, prosperous and healthy New Year.
