SPECIFIER THE MAGAZINE FOR DCE DELEGATES

Keep on logging CPD time at DCE events. Dear Reader / Meet the EXPERTS delegate, What a year 2017 has been?

Despite all the tumultuous happenings with elections and Brexit regulations you should be pleased to know that DCE will continue providing some superb opportunities to log CPD time and maintain a level of professional competence!

In July, we celebrated 30 years since DCE became a business and the very first DCE event took place on 7/9/87 in Manchester at Old Trafford Cricket Ground.

The event was called ROOFING in the Public Sector and was a simple 24 stand lunchtime Product Show with 399 visitors all enjoying a free pint and hot lunch!

Those were the days! We had such a Public Sector back then! In addition to the overstaffed Local Authority departments we had visitors from the Property Services Agency, the central Government organisation responsible for all Government properties and all the Public Utilities - Electric, Gas, Water, Telecom, Rail - had technical officers who we could invite to DCE events. Happy days!

In fact, for the first half a dozen years of DCE’s existence we ran numerous themed regional product shows all across the UK and Ireland, approx 150 events in 1991 alone!, before CPD was introduced.

Our first CPD involvement was in October ‘93 when we organised and staged a seminar and demonstration event in Bristol on behalf of SIKA Ltd and, since then, we have continued to provide learning opportunities for building and construction professionals all over the British Isles.

The DCE format is very simple. It should also be informal and informative making each event an enjoyable educational experience.

We have some regular and well practiced technical presenters plus, importantly, a new generation of younger and very skilled company representatives equipped with the latest knowledge and training. Our speakers deliver expertise and application, the type of information that is impossible to transmit on web pages.

This autumn we will be at 32 different events and have already announced 85 dates for 2018!

We look forward to seeing you at your next relevant DCE event.

Best wishes Steve Hilton CRL Glass Partition Wall Systems
