Santa Rosa, CA. ~ The Red- wood Stitchers host their eighth annual open house on Wednesday, September

from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Luther Burbank Art & Garden Center, 2050 Yulupa Ave., Santa Rosa. The chapter will exhibit a wide variety of members’ needlework, includ- ing applique, beading, silk and metal thread work, Bargello, counted thread embroidery, crewel,
embroidery, sel-making,

amples of the club’s outreach projects, which range from hand-stitched bookmarks for local
schools to cross-stitch “kissing pillows,” which are small keepsakes given to de- ployed servicemen and women

While stitching with fl oss on a cotton tea towel with a printed design, participants will learn how to begin and end threads, read diagrams and work four basic stitches. Participants should bring
