ere you hoping for loads of stall ideas? Fear not! We have a wealth of information on our
website (
pta.co.uk/fairs), from tips for preparing mulled wine to a step-by-step guide to running a grotto, and much more besides. So we thought we’d do something

Where do you buy your grotto gifts? Jacki Lakin: ‘We buy books from The Works or Book People (10 for £10) – we usually buy around 100 in advance then top up from Poundland closer to the time if needed.’ Heather Mclean: ‘We buy selection boxes from Tesco. They usually have a three-for-two or
two-for-£1 offer in November and a member of our PTA works there so we get a staff discount too!’ Lynne Loomes: ‘I bought selection boxes in bulk from the Poundland website – they were great and were delivered really quickly.’ Lesley Crumlish: ‘We ask parents to donate a unisex wrapped gift to the value of £1 in exchange for the children wearing their own clothes to school for a day.’ Sally Skidmore: ‘We have an
account at Hancocks confectionery warehouse and get selection boxes for about 60p each.’
Can’t find a willing Santa? Avoid queues! Alternative ideas to a grotto... Helen McDonald: ‘We did a our Year 6 children to dress up as elves – they loved it as much as the little ones!’
