Agenda
LET’S HEAR IT FOR FACEBOOK! Our PTA+ Facebook page is always a hub of activity, with
advice and support shared in abundance – everything from the practical (how to drum up volunteers to help at your fair) to the traditional (how to check children in and out of your discos)! If you’re already following us on Facebook, then a huge thank you for helping make the page such a friendly and useful resource for thousands of PTA members! And if you haven’t liked our page yet, then go to
facebook.com/ptaplus to see what you’re missing! We recently received a great message from one of our
Children enjoying their free LEGO following a tip on the PTA+ Facebook page
What’s new? Volunteer requests made easy...
If there’s one thing PTAs can never have too much of, it’s organisation. Gift-registry platform Patchwork was originally developed to help seek funding and support for weddings and honeymoons, but now the software is branching out into school event planning. A modern take on the ‘whip-round’,
Patchwork allows you to collect donations of skills, time and money from your school community. The format breaks everything down into three key ideas – make, do and fund. Visit the website to customise a template with a ‘patch’ for each item on your event to-do list. Use its images to create a user-friendly, visually stunning page, then share the URL with your parents and the wider community. You can even sell tickets through the platform. It’s free to set up, the only charge being a small commission on cash payments, which are made securely via PayPal. Whether you need someone to make some cakes, do an hour of volunteering or give £5 towards raffle prizes, Patchwork offers a fun way to bring your school community together. Visit

Facebook followers: ‘Just wanted to thank whoever commented about the LEGO charity donations. My school received a large box of LEGO today. Some of our pupils have limited access to toys at home, so we wanted to offer an after-school construction club. We emailed LEGO to apply for a product donation and after a bit of a wait, I up at the school! I was thrilled that we received such a generous donation, and from the smiles on the children’s faces it was clear that they were pretty happy, too!’ Amy Tipper, PTA Chair, Palterton Primary School,
