Professional Practitioner Organisations
This list includes the principal umbrella bodies which regulate and/or co- ordinate practitioners who practise various forms of healing. They also provide information on approved training courses. Practitioners who belong to one or more of these bodies will have undertaken training to a standard required by that professional organisation. This may be indicated by initials after the practitioner’s name, denoting a qualification or membership of a particular organisation. Where applicable, we have listed in brackets after each category the various sets of initials which might follow a practitioner’s name.
To find a local practitioner, simply telephone the relevant organisation and they will send you a list. If you require a national register for any particular profession, please send an A5 S.A.E. Where the register is very extensive, a small fee is requested - stated where necessary. This list is not exhaustive. Some organisations belong to even larger umbrella bodies which are listed at the end, and this may be indicated by bracketed initials at the end of an individual entry.
