the Aura, but also work closely with their and your Spirit Guides and follow their intuition as to where to focus any further healing needed. At this level there are several types of spiritual healing available in the UK, as well as around the world, each with their individual labels and styles. The principal styles best known here are Reiki and Spiritual Healing. Reiki tends to be given on the body, using physical touch and Spiritual Healing tends to be given off-body, working through the Aura. Both types channel energy via the hands, although developed Healers will also be channelling via their Chakras, body and voice, to varying degrees. What these styles do not do is discuss or work with psychic energy and psychic perceptions, but trust in the flow of

the channelled energy to know where it is most needed - certainly guiding the Healer to the right place and length of delivery needed, but never explored further, certainly not with the client. This code of conduct was developed to protect clients receiving more than they were expecting at an appointment, especially the sometimes unsettling effect of being given a psychic or clairvoyant message from a loved one or Spirit Guide, when the client thought they had come for a Healing session and the message had been passed on with- out permission. There had been a worrying trend in the past where a Healer indulged in giving messages that were at best inappropriate to a Healing session, and at worst scared the client. So it is greatly encouraged not to mix up the two forms of channelling and to have separate appointments available to clients for a Spiritual and Psychic Reading. You can see a Healer privately or go to a Healing Centre who usu- ally charge donation-only fees. Two good organisations for this are the Holistic Energy Association and The Healing Trust, both made up of NFSH Healers.

As Healers developed spiritual healing skills they began to experiment with tools of vibrational medicine, which enhance the effects of the channelled energy. Obvious examples are Crystal Healing, Sound Healing, using Aura-Soma products (I like to ‘polish’ someone’s Aura at the end of their session with a Quintessence or Pomander, before closing them down - they all have lovely perfumes too!), playing well produced relaxation music, using first class Flower Essence mixes on the Aura (my favourite range for healing sessions is the superb Alaskan Essences) and burning aromatherapy oils in the healing room. This gives both the Healer and the client a more inter- esting experience but also wonderfully complements the healing given, particularly the stronger forms such as Crystal and Sound Healing which are both deeply penetra- tive and effective clearing and rebalancing agents. Because of this it is greatly advisable to be separately trained in these modalities to ensure the psychic and spiritual safety of your client. Dabbling with sound and crystal energies while chan- nelling healing energy is a potent mix and can mess up the

structure of the Aura in inexperienced hands. However channelling healing energy while practising another complementary therapy (such as Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Massage therapies and Cranio-sacral Therapy) can be a positive asset to the efficacy of that thera- py, if the therapist practises self-healing meditations to keep themselves a clear channel for the job.
