Lytchett Minster and Upton Gardening Club is 75 years old this year.


To celebrate our 75th Anniversary this year, we have written an article about our history, some of which will appear in the Carnival Programme. A mural is in the process of being painted, so look out for it in the next few weeks in Upton. The fl ower bed behind the clock tower has been cleared and will become our celebration fl ower bed, gradually being planted during the year, according to when the plants are suitable for transplanting, as a sensory garden.


In May, Martin Young talked on Fragrant English Roses. We now know which blooms to choose to make our gardens even more beautiful! Thank you to the visitors who have supported our meetings this year. We hope to see you again soon!

Thursday 27th July: My Life In Watercress. A talk by James Harper at 7.30pm at Upton Community Centre.


Based in Dorchester, the Watercress Company produces the fi nest quality products in a safe and sustainable way across their farms in Dorset, Hampshire, Spain and Florida.To do this they have a team of over 300 experts, from really well- trained seasonal staff to specialist managers in production, technical support and commercial roles. The business is now 21 years in the making and was founded by Chairman, Peter Old. They sell watercress, baby leaf salads and wasabi throughout the UK and Europe.


Come and fi nd out about this local business, and sample free watercress! Our visitors’ entry is £3 and includes tea and biscuits.
